Edward Kanerva was born in the epitome of bedroom communities, Burlington, ON and currently lives in the equally sedate Town of Oakville, ON.
He studied English Literature at U of T and completed a MA in Studies in Comparative Literatures and Arts at Brock University. His major thesis focused on the interdisciplinary poetics of Christian Bök and Robert Smithson.
He occasionally fancies himself a poet, and occasionally people fancy his poetry. At U of T his poetry was published in the anthology Breathing Thoughts; at Brock he was published in the anthology The General. His poetry has also appeared in the online journal, ditch, poetry that matters and the Toronto Quarterly.
He is currently enrolled in Centennial College’s Book and Magazine Publishing postgraduate program. He hopes to one day live in a city and pursue a highly lucrative career in publishing. Cue crickets.
Until that magical day he will continue his epic battle against the boredom and indolence suburbia inspires.
